Class Description:

Have you been thinking about writing your memoirs? Now is a great time to get started! Memoir writing is a wonderful way for family and friends to have a glimpse of who you are and what you’ve done. Magazines, anthologies, and book publishers may be interested in your life stories, too. Whether writing for yourself or for others, this two-day writing intensive will teach you the ins and outs of writing this popular form of personal narrative.

You’ll jumpstart your writing with several in-class guided writing exercises and learn how to organize and edit your work. You’ll learn about voice, pacing, scene-setting, character development, details and descriptions. Published author Darien Gee has been teaching creative writing workshops for over 15 years and has helped aspiring and seasoned writers craft their work. If you’ve been wanting to write your memoirs but not sure how to get started, you won’t want to miss this special two-day writer’s retreat.
