READERS RAVE!
Saving the best
for last, here are some of the fabulous emails and comments I've
received. Please keep them coming ... if you liked the book,
please let me know!

"I just finished GOOD THINGS
in 2 1/2 days. I loved it and can't wait the next one!!"
Darla M. (Oklahoma City, OK)
"I
picked up a copy of GOOD THINGS yesterday afternoon, and found it
impossible to put it down until it was completely read! You are a very
talented author and I will look forward to reading your next novel."
Cheryl D. (Volcano, HI)
"I just finished reading your book and wanted to tell you it is great! I loved everything about it and was hooked in the first few pages. I was surprised when I was in the elevator in my office building and a complete stranger saw the book in my hand and asked me what I thought about it. I told her I thought it was fabulous and she said that all of her friends said the same thing and couldn't wait to read it herself. My best friend is hosting her book club in a couple of months and is going to make
GOOD THINGS the selection. I just printed the Book Club section from your web site to give her. I know she will love all of the suggestions for hosting. I'm also very sure that I'll end up preparing your recipes, which I hear from my sister are delicious!
I look forward to your next book and have now added you to my list of favorite authors!"
Kathy H. (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
"I just finished reading your debut novel, GOOD
THINGS, and I wanted to let you know that I thought the book was awesome! I am so glad I picked it up on impulse at Barnes and Nobles. I started the book on Saturday night and finished it Monday night, I could hardly put it down. I cannot wait to see with what you come out next with."
Kim J. (Frankfort, KY)

"I just finished GOOD THINGS and I loved it. We picked it as our May book club book and it is one of the best we've picked recently. I loved the characters and the story and was sad when I finished it. I hope she is planning on doing a sequel; I would love to see how Deidre handles planning a wedding, producing her show, launching products and whatever else life throws at her. I also love that recipes were included and I can't wait to try them. I'll be waiting to see what her next book is."
Julie S. (Park Ridge, IL)
"My husband had gone fishing for 4 glorious days. It's cold and pouring down rain. All the elements I needed to be able to get lost in a couple of books that I had bought just for this occasion! One of those books just happened to be
GOOD THINGS and, indeed, lost I got in Jacob's Point and Lake Wish. I could not put this book down and I certainly did NOT want this book to end. Besides Deidre and Kevin, I fell in love with the characters of Lindsey (a steadfast and no-nonsense friend), William and Alain (who are a hoot) and Mrs. Everett (the most mysterious character in the book). I love the folklore and magic of Lake Wish. I am really hoping that Mia King will consider doing a series of Jacob's Point books and delve deeper into the other characters as well (with guest appearances by Deidre and Kevin, of course). I have bookmarked her website and will be watching for whatever she may publish next! ps...I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter!
pss...I was delighted when I turned the last page and there were all of the recipes from the book ~ especially the Fresh Salmon and Penne Salad with creamy, light Dill Dressing....yum!!!
Thank you Mia King!!!"
Donna T. (Hillsboro, MO)
"Just a quick "Thank
You" for a delightful book. Can't wait for the next one!!"

"I picked up GOOD THINGS while on vacation on the Big Island - lured by its local authorship and a clerk's response that she'd just gotten the shipment and it was nearly sold out. I'd spied the last copy on a white wicker chair and grabbed it.
It's a great, fast, easy read with plenty of life lessons - mostly that the hiccups in life are usually replaced with deep invigorating breaths of fresh air.
The writing is creative and descriptive.
I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with the hostesses at our hotel, so I didn't get a chance to try the recipes. They did sound awesome.
GOOD THINGS is a great book if you have thirty minutes while the baby is napping, 15 minutes as you wait in a doctors office or are overlooking the Pacific. Should I keep watching for whales or keep reading? Tough one!
Thanks to Mia King for helping my mind and soul take a vacation."
Jennifer T. (New Jersey)
"I am so glad I purchased this book! It was
wonderful! I really enjoyed the storyline as well as the quotes at the
beginning of each chapter that pertained to how to live your life more
simply. I even wrote down several of them to post in my office. You are
a truly gifted author and can't wait to read more from you in the
future!"
Mary Beth H. (Henderson, NV)
"I picked up your book yesterday and I am more than half way thru it. Would love to read a sequel, so I hope that you are furiously writing and not just soaking up the sun in Hawaii. LUCKY YOU!!!!"

"Thank you for a WONDERFUL book! I bought it for my vacation to Mexico. I couldn't put it down on the plane, was reading it in the customs line, and finished it the evening we arrived. As I read the book, I kept thinking - wow, these recipes sound great. I wish I knew how to make these things. Then to my surprise, some of the recipes were at the back of the book! I can't wait to try some of them when I get back home (I loved the book so much I had to look up your website while poolside in Mexico!). I am definitely going to try the meatloaf, scones and cherry cookies. Thanks again for a great book - I will be recommending it to all of my friends & am looking forward to your next release."
Sharon M. (Vernon Hills, IL)
"Mia King has hit a homerun with her first novel. There is adventure, romance, tears, hope, and even a good
recipe or two. I fell in love with the characters and found myself immersed in the plot before I could grab a cookie and cup of coffee. While the book is light and as easy to read as eating a piece
chocolate cake, I found I learned some things about life through
Deidre's adventures. Mia, what's next? Will the legends of Wish Lake produce more adventure?"
Betti R.
"I gobbled this book up like candy! From the first page to the last.
The only time I slowed was when I was tempted to try the recipes right then and there!"
Patricia W. (Honolulu, HI)

"Wow!! Mia I am totally holding you
responsible for my lack of sleep the past two days because I couldn't
put the book down until it was finished!! I at times wished I was Deidre
hanging out and baking in the middle of a peaceful small town! Can't
wait to try the recipes! Hurry up on your next book... I'll be the first
to buy it!"
