Amazing contest! Yes I am ready for summer. Seems like it has been a long winter. And we still have a couple feet of snow!
Aloha Cheryl! My kids are dying to see snow again, but hopefully everything will start to thaw soon and you’ll get a chance to warm up! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Mia

I would take my husband and we would lay on the beach,in the sun, soaking up the rays after this hard winter. We will eat exotic food at luaus and sleep dreamless sleep in our comfortable bed.

Gosh! This would be a dream come true. I’d take my hubby. He needs a vacation. He’s so devoted to his job. We had an awful scare this week, where I had to rush him to the emergency room. We thought he was having a heart attack. Thank goodness this was just a warning. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to take him away to paradise. I think this would change his entire outlook on life and work. Thanks!
Hi Gina! I’m glad to hear everything is okay with you and your husband. I married into a family with heart disease and while my husband has been blessed with good health, I try not to take anything for granted (but still, unfortunately, do). Remember to send your comments to hawaiifiction@gmail.com to be officially entered into the contest! Hugs, Mia

Hi Patricia! Yes, I am the same way. I think that’s what drew me to the Big Island–there’s so much to do! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Mia

Hi Gladys! It was my dream for a long time and now I’m here, and coming up on nine years. Thanks for stopping by!
April 10th, 2009 @ 2:54 am
I would SEND my family to Hawaii. I, on the other hand, would luxuriate at home. I’d clean the house the day they left, and then take bubble baths in my neat house, sleep until noon in my neat house, and then read all day in my neat house with nobody to interrupt me
Dear Barbara: You know, I think this is one of the smartest strategies a woman can come up with!
I’m very much the same way. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
April 10th, 2009 @ 1:11 pm
I would take my husband, he works very hard and we never do anything with out the kids included, usually they end up arguing when we are on a vacation so we are getting to where we don’t enjoy vacationing very much lol! We would be able to just enjoy things we liked for a change with a little peace, that would be Wonderful!!!

Aloha Lori! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, a little peace and quiet seems to be the theme this week. I think we’re all on board with that!

I am looking forward to reading those books, while laying on the beach, what a way to go. Great contest, you are all great writers, have really enjoyed your reads. I especially the Flirting over 40 on Lifetime.
Hi Suzanne! It was so much fun to see Jane’s book brought to life on Lifetime, wasn’t it? She joins me in having another release in a couple of months–Easy on the Eyes (Jane) and Table Manners (me), both continuing the stories of characters you’ve met in previous books. Hmmm…I think we’ll have to come up with another contest once those titles are of the press!
April 18th, 2009 @ 6:17 am

I am so ready for summer! I would bring my husband and kids with me. This would be so great. Thanks
Hi Laura–How perfect. Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
April 18th, 2009 @ 11:14 am
I would take my husband with me on what would be a very memorable Hawaiian vacation. We would most definitely spend some time soaking up the rays on a beautiful sandy beach, but what I really want to do is visit all the wonderful sites in Hawaii, a pineapple plantation, a trip to a volcano at sunset, a site-seeing trip by helicopter, luau and all the wonderful tasty treats and watching the beautiful dancers, making a lei by hand, hula lessons. Oh, I could go on and on, but you get the point. To visit Hawaii with my husband has been a dream of mine for over twenty years!
Thank-you all for the chance to win this wonderful prize package and also for giving me a chance to “dream a little bit”!
Hi Shelly! You should be a travel planner for trips to Hawaii–now I feel guilty that I don’t do more here! I’ll add a couple of fun things to the list: visiting a vanilla farm, a macadamia nut orchard and factory, going to the top of Mauna Kea at night to see the stars. I hope you get to do all these things someday! Best, Mia
April 18th, 2009 @ 2:58 pm
Thanks for this wonderful contest! I would love to be able to go to Hawaii with my family. My daughter would enjoy it SO much.

i would love to go and take my husband.
Hi Andrea! Thank you for leaving a comment and for entering the contest! Good luck!
April 18th, 2009 @ 5:43 pm
My husband and I would be in a cabana watching the waves break on the shore of an Hawaiian beach. Conversation would not be necessary, our minds would allow the inner chatter to far exceed what we could ever say verbally about the beauty that surrounds us. Our eyes would speak volumes to each other of the gratefulness for what only our imagination could ever have dared to dream.
Dear Immy: Oh, you and your husband sound like perfect candidates for a place called Kona Hawaiian Village! No phones or computers, no TV, nothing! Though you can certainly create your own quiet solitude wherever you go. Your comment was like poetry–good luck and thanks for stopping by!
April 19th, 2009 @ 3:08 am
INCREDIBLE giveaway, I’d love to win. ALOHA!

April 19th, 2009 @ 8:42 am
I would take my husband for a 2nd honeymoon; I would go see the volcanoes, drink cocktails by the beach, relax and enjoy! I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii!

April 20th, 2009 @ 4:03 am

April 20th, 2009 @ 6:43 am
I would love to go back and visit my dear friend Piialani and go to another island. I received Kona coffee and Gardenia perfume from her for Christmas…ma halo. NT
April 20th, 2009 @ 12:46 pm
1. Visit a volcano.
2. Swim in a secluded lagoon that has a waterfall.
3. Learn to dance the Hula.
4. Read, Sleep and Eat.
April 21st, 2009 @ 2:20 am
I would take my good friend to Hawaii with me. We would go to a luau, learn to hula, shop at Hilo Hattie, and most of all lay on the beach, and enjoy the surf, sun and sand. Mahalo!
April 21st, 2009 @ 5:57 am
I would take my husband. Lovely vacation lovely romance. If he was unable , I would love to take my daughter. she has a husband & 3 small children. Never been on a plane. works extremely hard to make ends meet. Deserves a wonderful -stress free- mother, daughter vacation
April 24th, 2009 @ 8:42 am
WoW, what a great giveaway!! Even if you can’t go to Hawaii, you could pretend you were there. Thanks.
April 24th, 2009 @ 12:04 pm
As the email, hawaiijack, implies, Hawaii is like a 2d home to me
April 26th, 2009 @ 3:36 pm
It has been a l-o-o-o-n-g winter beginning with Hurricane Ike in the early fall and still hanging on somewhat. Though winters in south/central Texas are not as bad as elsewhere, we are tired of the dreary rainy and sometimes cold weather. Bring on those new books!
April 27th, 2009 @ 3:43 pm
If I went to Hawaii I’d spend as much time outdoors as possible. I live in the north and there’s still snow here in places. I’d take a family member who has never been outside the city, let alone off the continent. At least I can dream!
April 27th, 2009 @ 5:44 pm

I would have a bag reserved for the books to carry on the plane. On my only backpacking trip, my books ended up being farmed out to everyone else’s pack. My best friend would accompany me, because she deserves a break, too. Hawaii’s traditions and culture are my dream, along with the beaches, luau’s, macademia nuts and swaying with the hula. Looking into spas and relaxing in a beautiful country with great people, sign me up.
May 1st, 2009 @ 4:02 am
Aloha! I have just finished teaching for the semester and I am not due back at the University until mid-August. I would love to have a Hawaiin themed summer on my back patio with a bag of “leave Mom alone!” books. Thank you for collaborating to provide this FABULOUS giveaway. Y’all rock!
May 1st, 2009 @ 7:39 am
What a great contest! Thanks to everyone who donated for this giveaway.
May 1st, 2009 @ 4:26 pm
I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, but have never had the money to travel. This would be a close second for me to become an arm chair traveler.
May 2nd, 2009 @ 2:07 pm
I’d take my sister. Spend time on the beach relaxing and reading. I would go sight seeing because I don’t have the money to travel.
May 2nd, 2009 @ 3:26 pm
What a fantastic giveaway!!! I emailed all my info but wanted to thank you again!
May 4th, 2009 @ 6:29 am
What a great giveaway!! I would probably take my mother. Why, you ask? We’re very close, we’re both avid book readers and will FINALLY be able to read without being interrupted. Her and I would probably stay on the beach, drinking tasty beverages, checking out the men and read. I know my husband and my stepfather would be upset that we didn’t take them but someone has to stay home and feed the cats
May 5th, 2009 @ 1:43 pm
I’d take my husband who would love the break! We haven’t yet had our honeymoon, so it would be amazing. We’d likely walk around, swim, have wonderfully fresh seafood, fruit shakes and snack on macadamia nuts!
Thank you for doing this – it’s really wonderful!
Aloha Gaby! You are very welcome! A belated honeymoon sounds lovely!
And I know I’m behind with my comments (life is crazy here–case in point, my three year old tried to give me a time out the other day), but know that I’ve read each and every one and appreciate you stopping by! Hugs, Mia
May 6th, 2009 @ 1:53 pm
I would take my friend, neither of us can ever afford real vacations and this one would be super! We both like cultural type things and sight seeing, so we would have to “google” out all the interesting places to see while we were there! All that natural beauty to see – I can hardly wait!
May 13th, 2009 @ 9:34 am
I would take my children. To walk the beach, see all that this tropical paradise has to offer and to make lasting memories.
May 14th, 2009 @ 4:05 pm
I would take my children because they have been great kids and deserve more that I, myself, could give them.
May 16th, 2009 @ 7:46 pm
Ohhhh…remember that scene in the Thornbirds where Meggie is eating her mango in the ocean while just soaking up sun and life…that’s what I would do. But of course, being a crazed romance reader, I would have a mango in one hand, and a book glued to my other hand while using my tongue to lick forward to the next page. Aaahh…meanwhile, my kids would be swimming around me, and my husband with his spf100 block would be serving me my mai tai drink. Mmm..what a dream. Thanks for the contest.
May 19th, 2009 @ 7:41 am
If I was in Hawaaii I would be on the beach getting a tan as living in Wisconsin there is not much warm beach weather. I would share this trip with my daughter.
May 19th, 2009 @ 8:21 pm

I am so glad I found this site! Hawaii is just a dream for me right now. BUT I would love to explore all of it- the culture, nature, floral, and food!
Of course, I would be with my fiance, and who knows- maybe we would wed there!
May 20th, 2009 @ 8:00 pm
I’d love to read all these books and have a bit of paradise at my fingertips. If I could go to Hawaii, I’d bring my neighbor who has become my best friend. She’s never been out of the country (and trust me, it shows), and she seriously needs a tan (as do I). Thanks for all these wonderful contests, Mia. Love your books!
May 21st, 2009 @ 5:08 am
IF I WON A WEEK IN WONDERFUL HAWAII, I WOULD TAKE MY HUSBAND WHOVE I’VE BEEN MARRIES TO FOR 23 YEARS. WE NEVER REALLY WENT ON A HONEYMOON. SOMETHING FOR JUST THE TWO OF US, SOMEPLACE SPECIAL. I CAN SEE NO PHONES, NO T.V., JUST TOTAL RELAXATION AND RECONNECTION. WALKS ON THE BEACH IN MOONLITE, HOLDING HANDS WOULD BE UNBELIEVABLE. THANKS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO DREAM ABOUT THIS HAPPENING.
May 21st, 2009 @ 7:36 am
I would bring my husband, and we would have the honeymoon we didn’t get when he was shipped overseas last year. We would play in the sea, scuba dive, and do the typical romantic getaway. We would do the romantic thing, using all of the candles we could get our hands on, enjoy a candle-lit dinner, and make wonderful memories to keep forever; maybe before he is shipped out again!
May 24th, 2009 @ 10:12 am
Did stop by to comment on the giveaway, but didn’t say who I would go with. My husband would be my choice. We will be celebrating our 37th anniversary this June. We love to travel and luckily enjoy the same things – history, nature, and the people of the area we are in.
Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day Weekend. Think I’ll go hug my veteran.
May 25th, 2009 @ 6:45 pm
Thanks for having this giveaway. These are some great prizes.
May 26th, 2009 @ 11:34 am
Wow! This is a spectacular give away. I would go to the in-laws house, lie in the pool, and hear the waves in my head! Oh, I hope I win!!
May 27th, 2009 @ 5:18 am
I would have to say I would use the trip to Hawaii as a honeymoon that my husband and I never had. We both love the sun, so it would be perfect. Most of our time would be spent at the pool soaking up the sun while sipping on a drink looking at the spectacular ocean! This is a fabulous prize and would LOVE to win some new reading material!
Have a good summer!
May 27th, 2009 @ 9:44 am
What an amazing giveaway! All of you are so wonderful for giving someone this opportunity! Even though I sent an email, I figured I would join the trend and post my answer here too. ^_^
I would probably bring my house, which consists of me, my mom, my grandma, and my grandpa. Mainly because none of them have been out of the continental United States.
While they are lounging on the beach, I would want to check out any historical sites or museums to learn more about their unique culture.
May 30th, 2009 @ 5:50 am
First, I would tour around to see the lovely
landscape with all those incredible flowers.
Then I would take my books(I always carry some
with me) & sit on the beach with a cold drink
& just revel in being able to read in such a
beautiful place. Definitely would go to the
Arizona to honor those who died in the Pearl
Harbor attack. Before I left Hawaii, I would
go to some of the fabric stores & get some of
their wonderful designed fabric for souvenirs.
May 30th, 2009 @ 1:05 pm
Oh if only we could have a week in Hawaii. We have never ever had even a night away or at home to ourselves since we married 12 years ago. I brought my son into the marriage and then we had a daughter and son together and they have kept us rather busy. So of course I would love to spend a week with my hubby enjoying rediscovering each other and all the wonders that Hawaii has to offer – NO KIDS ALLOWED.
Of course since we will never get to Hawaii, with a prize package like this, we could do some good pretending.
Thanks for an awesome giveaway!
May 31st, 2009 @ 2:58 pm
