What I’m Reading

When I’m not writing (or feeding the kids or cleaning up the house or trying to squeeze in a shower), I’m reading. You know that TV show where couples get to fill their shopping carts with as many items as they can from a grocery store? That would be my dream, except in a bookstore. Barnes and Noble, are you listening?
I read a lot, and I read fast (I was always a fast reader, but since having kids I’ve had to read faster or risk never finishing the book). I’m not really into book/author bashing (for obvious reasons!), so you won’t find me talking about books I don’t like, but I’m all for sharing the good stuff that’s out there. Here’s a smattering of what I’ve read (or re-read) this past week that I really loved and/or enjoyed:
Fiction:
- Four Wives by Wendy Walker
- Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner
Nonfiction:
- Instructions to the Cook: A Zen Master’s Lessons in Living a Life That Matters by Bernard Glassman and Rick Fields
Children’s:
- Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume
- 100 Dresses by Eleanor Estes
And a special thank you to Bookfan Mary for blogging about SWEET LIFE and saying, among other things: “Mia King is a wonderful story-teller.” You can visit her blog by clicking here.
