Malia battles her morning sickness with the help of Kavena’s special ginger tea. Malia can pour it into a thermos and let it sit all day, adding hot water when needed. She adds a touch of honey for sweetness, and sometimes a slice of lemon if she’s really feeling adventurous. You don’t have to be pregnant to enjoy it: it takes the edge off a cold day while strengthening the immune system. It’s also helpful for motion sickness.
- ½ cup fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
- 3 cups water
- Honey (optional)
- Lemon (optional)
- In a small saucepan, combine the ginger root and water.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Simmer to desired strength.
- Strain and add honey and lemon to taste.
