Mai tai for one is fine, but two is better. Reunited, Paul and Marissa want to toast the moment as they sit on the deck of their house, watching the sun set over the ocean. But champagne doesn’t seem right (been there, done that), and then it hits them – what better way to celebrate how far they’ve come than with a couple of mai tais? And boy, have they earned them. Bottoms up!
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces dark rum
- 2 ounces light rum
- 2 ounces orange Curaçao
- 4 ounces orange juice
- juice from 1 lime
- a dash of French orgeat
- a dash of simple syrup (bar syrup) or rock candy syrup
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients and shake well, then strain into two old-fashioned glasses filled with shaved or crushed ice.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, slice of pineapple or an orchid blossom for a splash of color.
